REN Programs / Initiatives

Our Aim: To provide eastern Oregon educators with equitable access to sustained, quality professional learning in order to: recruit and retain high quality educators, and develop the capacity of regional educators to improve student learning.

TEACHER OPPORTUNITY: Tired of working alone with little or no content / grade-level support? Interested in working with and learning from other talented grade level / content area educators in the region? Excited about improving student outcomes in math and/or improving your practice? Interested in controlling and guiding your own professional development with the help of other teachers and specialists? Answer yes to any of these questions?   • Increase / leverage collaborative professional development opportunities around regional priorities

  • Develop a website to increase access to regional professional development

  • Create mentoring cohorts for non-traditional and traditional novice educators

  • Initiate facilitated professional learning networks (see regional collaboratives above)

  • Develop an ongoing, sustained plan of support and regional toolkit for novice educators and mentors
